CV Resources is excited to partner with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Chiloquin, Oregon, to identify a highly qualified Fiscal Comptroller. This critical leadership position plays a central role in the organization’s finance department and directly supports the Chief Finance Officer.
We’re seeking a finance professional with deep expertise in fund accounting and nonprofit financial operations, along with strong supervisory experience and a passion for public service.
Position Summary
As the Fiscal Comptroller, you will supervise, organize, and manage the daily financial accounting operations of the organization. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, support annual audit processes, and lead a team of accounting professionals. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a comprehensive understanding of nonprofit fund accounting, and the ability to oversee complex financial systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the finance team, providing leadership in planning, performance management, training, and scheduling.
Ensure accounting transactions are properly classified and accounts are fully reconciled.
Approve vouchers for payment, oversee cash disbursements, and maintain multiple funding and payment platforms.
Monitor electronic banking functions, including ACH, positive pay, and scan deposit operations.
Coordinate with HR to ensure accuracy of employee benefits and oversee timely vendor payments.
Review and approve all payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Prepare and review financial reports, make necessary adjustments, and support program leadership with financial analysis.
Oversee commercial insurance policy management, including claims, allocations, and vendor interactions.
Support organizational and community events as part of a collaborative and mission-aligned team culture.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible financial management experience
At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a finance/accounting role
Thorough knowledge of fund accounting and federal grant/contract administration
Strong skills in computerized accounting systems (experience with MIPS preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience working in a networked environment
Working knowledge of AP/AR, payroll, purchasing, and risk management
Valid Oregon driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
Must pass background check and adhere to drug-free workplace policy
Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for organizational events
