Phaxis is looking for a qualified Contract School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in schools located in Pelham, NY, and the surrounding areas for the remainder of the 2024-2025 Academic Year, ESY, and for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a center-based special education program serving preschool-aged children (3-5 years old) in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Position Details:
- Title: Contract School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Location: Pelham, NY
- Caseload: Preschool students (ages 3-5) with a range of speech and language needs
- Duration: 2024-2025 School Year, ESY, 2025-2026 School Year
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, Regular School Hours
- Pay Range: $40-50+ per hour
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group speech and language therapy to preschool students as per their IEP mandates.
- Address challenges in expressive/receptive language, articulation, phonology, pragmatics, and fluency.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Special Education Teachers, and other support staff to ensure positive student outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student goals.
- Utilize assistive technology and augmentative communication systems (e.g., PECS) when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and IEP updates.
- Participate in meetings and consultations with the education team, staff, and families regarding student progress.
Requirements:
- Valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology License
- CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
- TSSLD or TSHH Certification (Required)
- Experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting. While typically one year of experience with special needs is required, we are also open to new candidates entering the field who have a strong academic background and a commitment to learning.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and alternative communication systems (e.g., PECS, AAC) is a plus
- PROMPT training is a plus
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus, but not required
