Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 9-week travel assignment in Richmond, VA. This position is ideal for RNs passionate about providing compassionate care to high-acuity OB patients.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS & NRP certifications required
- Fetal monitoring experience required (certification not required)
- Must be comfortable circulating and/or scrubbing deliveries
- Proficient with IV starts
Unit Details:
- 10 Labor & Delivery Rooms, 2 Triage Beds, 2 ORs
- Equipment: GE monitors, warmers, pulse oximetry, blood glucose monitors
- Patient Population: High acuity with language barriers, substance abuse, and complex conditions
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:1–2*
- Staffing Model: 3 RNs + 1 Tech per shift
- Skills Used: Fetal or cardiac monitoring, IVs, labor support
