Location: Willamette Valley Medical Center (WVMC), McMinnville, OR
Position Summary
The Radiation Therapist is a vital member of the oncology care team, responsible for delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards. This role combines technical precision with compassionate care to ensure optimal treatment outcomes and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment
- Interpret and implement physician radiation prescriptions accurately
- Prepare treatment plans in collaboration with Radiation Oncologists and Physicists
- Educate patients on procedures and provide emotional support during treatment
- Maintain strict safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from overexposure
- Document treatments and patient responses clearly and thoroughly
- Work collaboratively with the cancer care team to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- 🧾 Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Oregon
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- 2 years of experience required
- RTT, Oregon licensing required
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and patient-centered mindset
- 🕊 Ability to support patients and families with empathy and professionalism
- Equipment: TrueBeam Linear accelerator, GE Discovery CT, Aria/Eclipse treatment software
