**Job Title: Interventional Radiology Rad Tech (Neurosurgery/Neuroscience Experience Required)**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Rad Tech with a strong background in Neurosurgery and Neuroscience. This position is designed for dedicated professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to providing exceptional patient care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Demonstrate expertise in selecting appropriate exposure factors and positioning, ensuring the production of high-quality radiologic images.
- Collaborate effectively with department members to resolve challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Exhibit flexibility, compassion, and respect when interacting with patients and team members.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality throughout all patient interactions.
- Administer oral contrast as required for examinations and assist Radiologists during procedures.
- Operate all x-ray and imaging equipment competently, including CR and DR systems.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the department manager or lead.
- Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing downtime to assist colleagues and handle clerical or stocking duties.
- Uphold strict medication security protocols, ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel only.
- Serve diverse age groups with competency and professionalism in healthcare services.
**Documentation and Information Management:**
- Exhibit proficiency in using Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives as necessary (e.g., BPI projects, task forces).
- Maintain patient confidentiality, utilizing personal passwords and ensuring secure access to patient care modules.
- Provide technical assistance via telephone to physicians or hospital personnel, maintaining strong phone etiquette.
**Qualifications:**
- Valid Technician License in New York.
- Minimum of two (2) years of interventional radiology experience, preferably with a focus on Neurosurgery/Neuroscience.
- Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
- Certification by AART is required; VIR certification is a plus.
**Work Schedule:**
- 5x8 hour shifts with flexibility for negotiation towards 4x10 hour shifts available.
- No rotating shift schedule.
- Expectation of 2-3 on-call shifts per month, with at least one holiday assignment.
**Guaranteed Hours:**
- Contract duration: 124 weeks.
