Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in pediatrics needed for acute care rehabilitative services. The role involves evaluating and treating pediatric and adult patients with communication, swallowing, and voice disorders in an acute care environment. The SLP will perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies, work with tracheostomy and ventilator patients, manage speaking valves, and treat dysphagia across pediatric and adult populations. Position requires floating to other system facilities as needed, and occasional Saturday shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic assessments, including bedside swallow evaluations and Modified Barium Swallow Studies for adults and pediatrics.
- Provide interventions for dysphagia, voice, resonance, and speech-language disorders.
- Work with total laryngectomy patients, trach/vent cases, and speaking valves.
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies and rehabilitation plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to billing requirements.Ax
Eligibility & Requirements
Requirement Details
Certifications (Required) CA SLP License, BLS (AHA)
Education Master’s in Speech Language Pathology – Preferred
Experience Minimum 2 years SLP experience, with at least 1 year in acute care; NICU experience preferred
Charting System Any – Required
Travel Experience Prior travel within last 12 months required
Weekend Requirement 1 Saturday/month
Floating Required – may float to other system facilities within 75+ mile radius
Vaccine (COVID-19) Required + Booster – Medical/Religious exemptions only
Flu Vaccine Unknown
First-Time Travelers Not accepted – must have prior travel experience
Special Skills Modified Barium Swallow (adult/peds), total laryngectomy care, trach/vent management, speaking valve, dysphagia competency (adult/peds)
RTO Not specified – must submit with profile
Orientation Policy 24 hours + 8 hours non-billable modules (included in NBO; hours above 24 billable)
Other Notes Travel pairs allowed but not on same unit; married couples may not work on same unit
