Job Description
The Labor and Delivery unit is a high-volume, fast-paced environment handling over 300 births per month. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to obstetrical patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. The role requires experiencing managing labor and delivery processes and performing necessary procedures efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to obstetrical patients in a high-risk setting.
- Perform labor and delivery management, including sterile vaginal exams and circulation for C-sections.
- Conduct triage of obstetrical patients and pain assessments.
- Administer IV therapy and medication as required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, preferably 3 years.
- Experience in a high-volume setting with over 300 births per month.
- CERTIFICATIONS: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP required. AWHONN Advanced and circulate to OR experience preferred.
