Registered Nurse - Pediatric LTAC
Schedule
This position requires working the night shift with a schedule of 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). The nurse will be expected to work every other weekend and must be available to cover 2 out of 3 major winter holidays.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Pediatric Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric nursing and demonstrate proficiency in ventilator management and tracheostomy care. This role involves providing high-quality care to a diverse pediatric population with complex medical needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in an LTAC setting.
- Manage ventilator settings and perform tracheostomy care.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and isolation precautions.
- Perform complex wound care and monitor for complications.
- Document patient care using the Epic charting system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
- Previous charge experience is preferred.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
- Experience with various modes of ventilation and tracheostomy management.
- Competency in NG tube management and ostomy care is preferred.
