Emergency Room RN Job Details
- Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 – Located in the Finger Lakes, Ithaca is known for its natural beauty, top-rated restaurants, and lively arts and culture scene.
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (21 monitored beds, 5 psych safe rooms, 3+ hall beds)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (potential for permanent placement)
- Start Date: December 16, 2024
- End Date: March 17, 2025
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts per week)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2080 - $2220

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- CPI, NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to float to Med/Surg or ICU as needed
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care and family support within the full RN scope of practice
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate emergency patient care programs and services
- Collect and assess patient data, plan individualized care, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Coordinate patient flow and staff assignments as Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department
- Receive pre-arrival EMS reports and coordinate with triage and house supervisors
- Collaborate with ward clerks, provider staff, ED techs, RNs, and crisis evaluators
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment in a high-acuity emergency setting
