Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with stroke and telemetry experience, requiring a CO or compact RN license and proficiency with Epic.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit caring for stroke, COVID, and general med-surg patients
- 30 staffed beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, though ratios may flex higher
- Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (18:45–07:15), scheduled across all days of the week
- Weekend coverage required with at least 7 weekend shifts per contract
- Floating to similar units and sister facilities may be required based on facility needs
- Epic EMR experience required for charting
- Responsibilities include providing care for stroke, COVID, and med-surg patients within the MS/Tele unit
- First-time travelers are accepted with at least 2 years of RN acute care experience
- Navy scrubs are required
- No on-call or blocked scheduling allowed
- Up to 10 days of requested time off is allowed per 13-week contract, but blackout dates apply during major holidays and specified periods
- Candidates must not have been employed at UCHealth or its affiliates in any capacity within the past two years
- Completion of pre-start modules and orientation is required
- Local candidates are accepted at a different bill rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Prior experience working with flexible staffing ratios necessary
- Epic EMR experience required
