Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with AHA BLS and 2+ years of specialty experience for a fast-paced outpatient imaging assignment.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient imaging setting with high patient volume
- Specializes in general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound procedures
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday through Thursday with varied hours
- Potential for weekend and call shifts discussed during interview
- May float within organizational needs consistent with competency
- Epic EMR is used, with training or test-out option during orientation
- Responsibilities include performing ultrasound exams across multiple specialties, including invasive techniques as per policy
- Work environment is extremely busy, serving a large regional population with high acuity similar to a level 1 trauma center
- May provide mentorship and training to new staff and sonography students
- Will be required to work at least two major holidays per contract
- No local candidates accepted; must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
- No blocked scheduling allowed; schedule varies by department needs
- RTO must be requested prior to assignment and will not be added to contract end dates
- A 13-week break is required for returning travelers after contract completion
- Scrub and dress code policies will be provided by the department
Requirements
- Active credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS, RVT, RDCS) required if applicable
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years experience in ultrasound specialty required
- Ability to perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures
- Experience with Epic charting is preferred
