Overview
Paris Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join its Gastroenterology and Endoscopy team. This role is ideal for nurses who are detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled in providing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
- Assist physicians with endoscopy procedures including colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies, and other related interventions.
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition during procedures.
- Administer medications and sedation as prescribed, ensuring patient safety.
- Educate patients and families on procedure preparation, recovery, and follow-up care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of endoscopy equipment.
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state.
- Minimum of 2 years recent endoscopy or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in procedural and patient monitoring.
- Excellent communication and patient support skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
