Job Description
The Neuro Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in a challenging and dynamic environment. This position requires neuro experience and the ability to function independently in the Neurosurgery operating room.
Responsibilities
- Administer blood and blood products while observing strict infection control protocols.
- Perform urinary bladder catheterization and manage wound care effectively.
- Assist in various neuro procedures including craniotomies, VP shunt insertions, and lumbar fusions.
- Ensure adherence to the Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure.
- Respond to emergencies and manage code responses efficiently.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in neuro, trauma, ortho, and robotics nursing.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory.
- Must be available for call shifts, including nights and weekends, with callback response within 30 minutes.
- First time travelers will not be accepted.
