Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a CO or compact RN license and 2 years of CVICU experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting
- Care for critically ill adult patients including those undergoing open-heart surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and other major cardiac and thoracic procedures
- Patient ratios vary based on acuity from 1:2, 1:1, to 2:1
- Utilizes Epic EMR for charting
- Shifts are 3x12 hours with both day and night rotations
- Schedule includes a requirement for 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
- Floating within scope to similar units may be required
- No on-call requirements
- Navy scrubs required
- Specialized in caring for patients requiring advanced circulatory and respiratory support including ECMO and ventricular assist devices
- Multidisciplinary team environment with a focus on holistic patient care and education
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- No blocked scheduling requests accepted
- A maximum of 10 days of requested time off are approved per 13-week contract; time off is restricted during specified holiday and peak periods
- Local candidates within 75 miles are eligible, but pay rate is adjusted
- Must not have been employed by UCHealth or its affiliates in any capacity in the past two years
- Completion of facility modules is required pre-start
- Holiday coverage may be required per unit policy
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications in AHA BLS and ACLS
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Willingness to float to similar units as needed
