Job Details:
• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• One holiday and one evening shift required during holiday periods
• No call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of experience required - no first-time travelers accepted
• Orthopedic and trauma experience required
• Specialize in pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care
• Care for elective and trauma patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with possible stretch to 1:7
• EPIC charting system experience required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Care for patients with total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs
• Handle orthopedic trauma cases
• Use safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic equipment including CPM, knee immobilizer, and bone foam
• Work with rapid response teams
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Subject to float to any facility campus if needed
• Complete compliance requirements by 12 noon EST Wednesday prior to start date

This healthcare organization operates a specialized medical-surgical telemetry unit that focuses on orthopedic care and trauma services. The facility features 32 beds with a daily census of 31 patients, providing comprehensive pre and post-operative care for orthopedic procedures. The unit offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams, ensuring comprehensive patient care in a modern healthcare environment.
