Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, all while embodying the organization’s commitment to safety and superior quality care.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and collaborate with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education.
- Initiate discharge planning on admission and patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate patient status changes to support continuity of care and safety.
- Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety and adhere to safety policies.
- Contribute positively to the unit's function and participate in team building activities.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested after orientation.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (for CIRH only)
- Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience is highly desired.
