Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L and D RN)
The Labor and Delivery RN provides comprehensive care to laboring and birthing patients in a high volume unit with approximately 200 births per month, working as part of a team of 9 RNs staffed around the clock. Nurses will float to Mother Baby or Nursery as needed and must be comfortable with triage in a fast paced maternal setting.
Responsibilities
• Perform maternal and fetal assessments, triage obstetric patients, and provide continuous monitoring during labor
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean births, administer medications, and support pain management and newborn stabilization
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document all care accurately in the EMR
Requirements
• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience with triage required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and completion of an advanced fetal monitoring course; STABLE is a plus
• Comfortable in a high volume L and D setting with nurse to patient ratios based on assignment and willing to float to Mother Baby and Nursery
Department will conduct interviews via Microsoft Teams.
