Join our Cardiac Telemetry unit, where we provide comprehensive care for patients with various cardiac conditions. This unit specializes in post-cardiac surgery and stepdown care, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
Position Information
- Profession: Registered Nurse

- Shift: Night Shift - 3x12 Hours (18:45 - 07:15)
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Daily Census: 41 patients
- Number of Beds: 44
- Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
- Float Requirement: Yes, unit rotation applies
Experience & Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following experience requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor.
- First-time travelers are not accepted unless they possess over 24 months of cardiac experience.
- May consider 1.5 years of CVICU experience in a large facility.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- ACLS, BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred.
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and central line care are preferred.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias.
- Knowledge of post-MI care and pre/post-cardiac catheterization procedures.
Patient Diagnoses
The unit cares for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, including:
- Atrial Fibrillation
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
- Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
- Aortic and Mitral Valve conditions
- Endocarditis
- Cardiomyopathy
- Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
- Vasculitis
Special Procedures
The unit is equipped to handle various specialized procedures including:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Aortic / Mitral Valve Replacement (AVR / MVR)
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Mitral Clip procedures
- Pacemaker placements
- Various other vascular and cardiac surgeries
