Opportunity:
RN - Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM or weekend option available
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week for 13-week contract
• Weekend requirement: three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: every other holiday
• Float requirement: first to float within skillset to other campuses with 2-hour notice
• No local candidates within 40-mile radius accepted
• Patient ratio: 1:4 during nights
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Must have compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years stepdown experience plus 1 travel contract OR 5 years solid stepdown experience
• Recent EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass telemetry tests and complete checkoff class
• Care for post-procedure cardiac patients, neurological patients, and medical-surgical patients
• Perform 12-lead EKG interpretation, post heart catheterization care, initiate/titrate drips
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required
• May require precepting students and new hires
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Three call-ins can result in termination

This healthcare facility operates as a teaching hospital with a 19-bed blended stepdown unit featuring 8 designated stepdown beds and 11 medical-surgical/telemetry beds. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac and neurological care services, treating patients with complex conditions including post-procedure cardiac cases, stroke patients, and various medical conditions requiring intermediate-level monitoring and care.
