Neuro Stepdown & EMU Registered Nurse
Location
This position is located in West Virginia.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
12-hour day shifts, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM on weekends.
Job Description
The Neuro Stepdown & EMU unit serves higher acuity neuroscience patients, including those with EVDs, strokes, and seizures. This role requires strong neuro experience, including the management of various iv drips under physician's orders.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients on the Neuro Stepdown and EMU units.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio for Stepdown and a 1:5-6 ratio for the EMU.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage higher acuity neuroscience patients.
- Administer medications and titrate drips as per physician orders.
- Participate in patient education and advocate for patient needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must have strong neuro nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification is required; ACLS and NIHSS are preferred.
- Epic experience is required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license must be valid in the state.
