Job Description
This position is for an Adaptive Acuity Unit where travelers may be required to provide Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care on occasion. The charge nurse will oversee patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 and will also be responsible for managing a team in a critical access facility. Experience administering IV drips is necessary, and charge experience is mandatory for this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of patient care in the Progressive Care Unit.
- Manage a team of nursing staff and coordinate patient care activities.
- Provide charge nurse responsibilities as required.
- Maintain high standards of patient care, including IV drip management.
- Float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice when needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- 2+ years of current medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience.
- Charge nurse experience is required.
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is strongly required.
- Drip experience is essential.
- ICU experience is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 months previous travel nursing experience.
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact state license.
- Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
