Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown ICU position with telemetry and Epic charting experience required.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Stepdown ICU of an acute care hospital
- Night shift position with a schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am
- Patient ratio is 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope to similar units may be required
- Epic EMR is utilized and experience with Epic is required
- Tele competency and cardiac telemetry experience are required
- Scrub color is royal blue
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients in a high-acuity stepdown environment
- May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, typically June through November
- Block scheduling may be requested, but is not guaranteed
- All requested time off must be submitted with the application and is subject to approval
- Pre-employment modules must be completed before starting the assignment
- No on-call responsibilities required
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
- A minimum of 1 year recent Stepdown or ICU experience required, 2 years preferred
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS and CPI preferred (AHA certifications only)
- Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring required
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year prior to consideration
- Must reside at least 60 miles away to be considered a traveler; locals considered on a case-by-case basis
