Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least one year of experience and a GA or compact RN license for an adult and geriatric renal medical-surgical unit.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based renal Med/Surg unit
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
- Patient ratio is 1:5-6 in a 49-bed unit with an average daily census of 48
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required), along with Pyxis and SBAR
- Day shift schedule is 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- Floating to other units is required
- Work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Care for renal Med/Surg patients as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift in the same unit
- Scrub color requirement is navy blue
- Holiday coverage required per assignment duration (see facility holiday policy)
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed; no RTO during the first week or during Spring Break (April 6-12)
- RTO requests exceeding the maximum or during blackout dates will not be approved
- Assignment start is contingent on full compliance and orientation is bi-weekly
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee at any Piedmont facility within the past year
- If ineligible to return to a Piedmont facility, must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before rebooking
- Two supervisory references from a manager or higher are required for consideration
