Internal Job Description – Emergency Room RN
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for identifying patient needs and establishing priorities of care through comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The RN provides both direct and indirect patient care within the Emergency Care setting.
The Emergency Room RN must be able to safely, rapidly, and accurately triage all patients who enter the emergency care system. The RN collaborates and coordinates care with physicians and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals as required to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
A Basic Dysrhythmia competency test will be administered during the first week of the assignment. Successful completion of this test is required to continue working in the Emergency Department.
