Position Summary
The Registered Nurse is accountable for evaluating patients and assisting physicians in providing comprehensive patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs, identify priorities for care, and develop individualized plans based on ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessments based on patients’ problems or needs, physician’s medical diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care.
- Document patient care in accordance with established standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice standards and support the implementation of innovative care delivery methods.
- Deliver patient-centered care that aligns with professional nursing practice standards.
- Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in critical care is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with EPIC and Sensis systems is highly preferred.
Education Requirements
Required Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Licensure and Certifications
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Telemetry certification.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure
Schedule Details
This position requires a work schedule of 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM, totaling 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday availability is necessary, along with experience in cardiac and vascular procedures. Neuro procedure experience is preferred, as well as required experience in Cardiac Catheterization Labs (CCL).
