Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Surgical/Transplant unit position, requiring a compact or Oklahoma RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical/Transplant unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
- Care for a diverse patient population with conditions ranging from simple to complex
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Provide nursing care to an assigned group of surgical and transplant patients
- Assist physicians with exams and minor procedures
- Administer and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff
- Comply with hospital policies and team protocols
- Holiday coverage may be required
- A 6-month break is required before returning after working the maximum contract extension
Requirements
- Active RN license in Oklahoma or compact state required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required
- Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate patient care
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Some computer skills required
