Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a BSN for a Director of Nursing/Supervisor role in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting, requiring a WI or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a skilled nursing and long-term care facility within a hospital environment
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday day shift with 24/7 accountability
- Responsible for overseeing care in both skilled nursing and long-term care units
- Leadership role includes supervision of nursing staff and coordination of interdisciplinary resident care programs
- Lead, supervise, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure quality care and compliance with regulations
- Plan, coordinate, and implement departmental objectives, nursing standards, and updated policies and procedures
- Oversee and assist in assessment, case management, resident care planning, and ensure optimal care with interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor and report monthly quality data, including falls, skin, medication management, and chart compliance
- Foster a supportive and respectful environment for residents, respecting residents’ rights and choices
- Provide direct resident care and handle coordination of nursing services with other departments
- Guide and enforce infection control practices and participate in departmental budgeting and expense monitoring
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BSN required upon hire
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ supervisory experience in long-term care nursing or demonstrated leadership in a long-term care facility
- Required certifications: BLS/CPR (approved certification required within 90 days)
- Working knowledge of reimbursement systems and State and Federal regulations within long-term care and The Joint Commission (TJC)
