Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring PCU or cardiac telemetry experience and ability to float to multiple hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Tele overflow unit within a short-term acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
- Care for both medical-surgical and cardiac telemetry patients, including stroke cases
- Float required to three local hospitals within a 20-mile radius
- Teaching hospital environment
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Responsibilities include managing complex med/tele and cardiac patients, including those requiring vasoactive drips
- Time-sensitive online learning modules must be completed promptly upon assignment confirmation
- White scrubs required as dress code
- Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All time off requests must be declared at the time of application; late requests are unlikely to be approved
- Travelers are subject to assignment duration limits and must follow re-assignment wait periods at Cleveland Clinic locations
- Two professional references are required for consideration
Requirements
- Active FL or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
- Minimum 18 months of acute tele or PCU/cardiac bedside experience, with 2 years preferred
- Must have current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications at the time of consideration
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
- Proficient with vasoactive drips and stroke patient care
- Must be nicotine-free and pass a 10-panel plus nicotine (cotinine) drug screen
