Role: Charge ICU Float RN – Combination ICUs (MICU, SICU, TICU, CVICU, etc.)
Shift: 7:00–19:00 | Schedule made for 6 weeks at a time; flexible coverage expected
Orientation: 1–2 days with preceptor | Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week
Unit Info:
Nurse:Patient ratios: 1:1–2 (flex up to 1:3); 1:1 for high acuity (CRRT, IABP, Impella)
Tele/Monitor: RNs read & interpret their own strips; no tele tech
RT: 24/7 ICU coverage; RNs assist with respiratory needs
Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, breathing treatments
Nurse aids: None (sitters as needed)
Patients: General ICU; may respond to codes & rapid responses throughout hospital
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC
Experience:
Must: 2+ years ICU + prior Charge Nurse experience
First-time travelers: 3+ years ICU + Epic experience
Preferred: Prior travel experience
Skills: Comfortable titrating all critical drips (pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin, etc.)
Floating: Required within ICU, PCU/Stepdown, MS-Tele; may float to sister facilities in the region (OrthoColorado, Longmont United, St. Anthony Lakewood & North)
Radius/Travel: 60-mile radius; must secure housing feasible for floating throughout zone
Scheduling Notes:
Weekends: 6–9 per 6 weeks
Holidays: May be required
Call/standby: Rare
All time-off requests submitted before start
Dress Code: Any color scrubs
