Job Summary
The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, efficient perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role requires independent circulation of a wide range of surgical procedures while supporting patient safety, case flow, and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate surgical cases and assist with room turnover and cleaning
- Transport patients as needed
- Assist with scheduling surgical cases
- Participate in on-call coverage as assigned
- Maintain compliance with perioperative standards and hospital policies

Unit & Equipment
- Multiple operating room suites, including a dedicated C-section OR
- High-volume, efficient surgical department
- EMR and systems utilized include Meditech and Pyxis
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Operating hours: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 11:15 PM
- Shifts are variable based on department needs
- Scheduled for 40 hours per week (may be reduced during holiday weeks)
- On-call required: Average 1–2 weekdays per week plus up to 2 weekends per month
- Must be within a 30-minute response radius for call-back
Orientation
- Day-shift orientation for up to one week (or per manager discretion)
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2–3 years of circulating experience in a hospital OR setting
- Ability to scrub cases is preferred
- Strong teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Licensure & Certifications
- Active State of Hawaii RN License (required)
- BLS certification (required)
Additional Requirements
- Travelers requesting approved time off must complete a minimum number of scheduled shifts during the contract
- Arrival prior to assignment start may be required to complete employee health clearance
