DescriptionSpohn Hospital Alice was built in 1999 to serve the healthcare needs of people in Alice and the surrounding communities. The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and is licensed for 186 beds and offers comprehensive medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency and intensive care, as well as cardiac and comprehensive services.
Summary:
Performs echocardiograms according to physician's orders and established practices and procedures. Confers with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Evaluates nature of critical and emergency procedures and rearranges patient priorities to accommodate them. Advises cardiologists of results of examination and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation. Notifies cardiologist of significant scans necessitating immediate attention to patient.
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Director or Clinical Coordinator and the functional direction of the Cardiologists, performs diagnostic exams including but not restricted to Echocardiography, TEE, Holter monitoring, 2D/M-Mode and color Doppler.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Two years of experience preferred
- Background in physics related to Doppler ultrasound and/or electrical conduction
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- CPR (American Heart Association)
