Critical Care RN – ICU
Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurses provide specialized care to patients experiencing life-threatening conditions such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, respiratory distress, and other critical medical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patient condition and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
Treat wounds and provide advanced life support
Assist physicians with procedures
Monitor and document vital signs
Ensure proper function of ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment
Adjust ventilators and manage IABP as needed
Administer IV fluids and medications
Perform suctioning
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary critical care team
Respond to life-saving situations using established nursing standards and protocols
Act as a patient advocate
Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
Care for pre- and post-operative patients
May assist with case management, policy development, or administrative duties
Facility Requirements
ACLS, BLS & PALS required (ENPC & TNCC preferred but not required)
Certifications must be through the American Heart Association and attached to the submission packet
Must have WY RN license (attach to resume)
Minimum 2 years recent ICU RN experience required
May occasionally care for pediatric/adolescent patients (no dedicated peds unit)
Must be willing to float between Lander and Riverton campuses based on census
SageWest coversheet must be attached to submission
