WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in Watertown, NY.
Job Function:
- Night Shift.
- 3x12: 7pm - 7am.
- Manage the care of adult and/or pediatric patients with critical, life‑threatening conditions requiring rapid assessment and high‑intensity interventions.
- Provide emotional support, education, and clear communication to patients and families during emergency situations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, recognizing when early intervention is needed.
- Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.
- Perform essential emergency procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood draws, and airway support (intubation assistance).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
Job Requirements:
- Travel nursing experience required.
- MEDITECH experience required.
- Current NYS RN license required.
- BLS required.
- ACLS required.
- PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- Must pass lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation.
- Must be defibrillation certified within 6 months.
- Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation.
