Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a neuro step-down position requiring Epic proficiency, NIHSS certification, and night shift availability.
Responsibilities
- 12-bed intermediate care step-down unit applying critical care and neuroscience principles
- Patient population includes neuro ICU transfers, neuro trauma, subarachnoid/intraventricular/intracerebral hemorrhage, ENT oncology with tumor resection and flap reconstruction, post-operative spine, and a broad range of neurological conditions
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Floating required per facility float policy
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Provide intermediate-level nursing care to complex neurological and post-surgical patients
- Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must allow 12 months to pass before returning as a traveler
- No radius rule — local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required; pending VA license will be considered
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
