Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment at a small critical access hospital. This facility does not have separate units; RNs are expected to provide coverage across the Emergency Department, Acute Care, and Long-Term Care areas as needed.
This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting.
Schedule & Shift Details:
- Six (6) 12-hour shifts per two-week pay period (72 hours)
- Every third weekend off
- Holiday coverage required
- Hours are not guaranteed
If assigned to the Emergency Department and there are no active patients, the RN will provide backup support in Acute and LTC areas. When assigned to medication duties, the RN will be responsible for medication administration and procedures for both Acute and LTC patients.
Note: This is not a latex-free facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency nursing care including assessment, triage, and stabilization
- Administer medications and perform clinical procedures
- Deliver patient care across ER, Acute, and LTC settings
- Document all patient care in EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications:
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- Travelers without an active HI license must apply upon offer acceptance
- Minimum of two (2) years of Emergency Department experience required
- Current BLS/BCLS certification
- Strong adaptability and ability to function in a multi-care environment
Additional Requirements:
- Must arrive the Thursday prior to start date to complete employee health clearance on Friday
- Candidates must be able to meet onboarding timelines without exception
