Travel RN – Med Surg / Telemetry | Nights | 12hr Shifts

We are seeking an experienced Med Surg / Telemetry RN to join a 27-bed unit caring for mixed medical and telemetry patients.

Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Ratios: 1:4 Tele | 1:5 Med Surg
EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips

Patient Population

• Acute and chronic medical conditions
• Post-surgical patients including total joint replacements
• Urology, GYN, podiatry, and general surgery cases
• Potential stroke patients

Unit Details

• 27-bed Med Surg / Tele unit
• Philips remote telemetry monitoring
• Heparin drips (no cardiac drips)
• CPAP / BiPAP support (no vents)
• CNA support based on patient census
• House supervisor available 24/7

Schedule Requirements

• 12-hour night shifts
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Travelers participate in holiday rotation (1 major & 1 minor)

Floating

Travelers are first to float and may float to:
• Other Med Surg / Tele units
• ICU for Med Surg / Tele overflow patients
• ER for MS/Tele holds
• Nearby Mercy facility (~6.5 miles away)

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs required

Orientation

1–2 shifts with preceptor
