You must have:
BLS
ACLS
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Preferred:
AWHONN certification
👩‍⚕️ Experience Requirements
2–3 years OB / L&D experience
Must be independent in:
Labor care
Postpartum care
Newborn care
Travel nurses will also perform triage.
⏰ Shift Schedule
Typical shifts:
Day: 07:00 – 19:30
Night: 19:00 – 07:30
Scheduling:
Block scheduling may be arranged
Manager builds schedule
Must be flexible for days or nights

2 Ă— 12-hour call shifts per 4-week schedule
Call shift:
7 PM – 7 AM
1-hour response time
Call nurse acts as extra support for night shift.
📆 Weekend & Holiday Requirements
2 weekends per 4-week schedule
Every other holiday
🔄 Floating
If census is low, nurses may float to:
Other departments
Assist as RN or CNA helper
🧠Orientation
1–2 days unit orientation
