Job Summary:
The position is for a registered nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MedSurg) nursing at a healthcare facility in Hastings, Nebraska. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing direct patient care on a MedSurg unit with a focus on various diagnoses such as dementia, post-surgical recovery, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer, and COVID-19. The assignment begins on June 22, 2026, with a schedule of 12-hour night shifts.
Job Details:
- Location: Hastings, Nebraska
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, starting on 06/22/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), BSN degree or higher, BLS Certification, NIHSS Certification, at least 2 years of experience in a MedSurg setting, experience with EPIC electronic charting system
- Schedule: 12 hours, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with no self-scheduling; working with block scheduling to accommodate travel nurses, generally every third weekend, and every third winter holiday
- Additional Information: Nurses are expected to work one winter holiday every third year; no call or standby requirement; floating to Post-Cardiac Unit (PCU) or low acuity patients on the MedSurg unit may be required; dress code is any solid color without pattern or design; a two-day nursing department orientation and one day on the floor are provided; cancellation policy allows for cancellations up to 24 hours prior at no cost to the client.
