Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients within a high acuity, fast-paced hospital environment. Candidates are required to bring their active nursing license on the first day. The position offers the opportunity to work in a renowned facility known for its commitment to exceptional patient care.
Job Details:
- Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery or Labor & Birth experience in an acute care hospital setting, experience managing routine and high-risk obstetric patients, proficient in fetal monitoring and interpretation, labor support and coaching, medication administration and IV therapy, obstetric emergencies and rapid response, excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills, ability to work independently and in team settings, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) training, and recent inpatient, acute care hospital experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a team-based high acuity environment with the ability to adapt quickly to new workflows, policies, and electronic medical records.
- Additional Information: The role requires confident handling of 2 patients on labor and delivery, with the possibility to float between antepartum and labor & delivery units. Experience with Level 3 NICU and Level 4 high volume deliveries (approximately 8,000/year) is preferred. No call is required for this position.
- Unit Information: The unit features a high volume of deliveries with a focus on high-risk obstetric cases and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
