Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) will be responsible for providing compassionate and proficient patient care within an observation and inpatient setting. The position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This assignment is a 13-week travel opportunity starting on June 22, 2026, featuring a schedule of 12-hour days.
Job Details
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Schedule: 12-hour days, 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) ARC (American Red Cross) or AHA (American Heart Association), Associate Degree or Certificate, with a minimum of 3 years of RN experience, and charting experience using EPIC electronic medical record system
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS (ARC or AHA) are required; will need to pass an EKG exam during compliance
- Additional Information:
- Float to all inpatient units as needed
- Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
- State health requirements include flu and COVID vaccinations; mask-wearing required during flu season if declined vaccinations
- Minimum experience required: 3 years in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units, with ability to interpret EKG strips
- Unit comprises 8 beds with 2 RNs per shift, patient ratio 1:4, with a focus on observation and step-down care with average stays up to 48 hours
- Must adhere to facility policies including flu and COVID vaccination, and mask-wearing during flu season if declined vaccination
- Additional notes: The traveler must be outside 50 miles from the facility; hours are not guaranteed during the week of orientation, but set hours will be guaranteed otherwise, except during holidays when the unit is closed.
