Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is needed for a travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas. This position involves working in the delivery room at a facility that supports a team-oriented approach with a strong leadership team. Candidates must bring their nursing license on the first day and possess at least one year of current acute care hospital experience in Labor and Delivery.
Job Details:
- Location: Wichita, Kansas
- Shift: Nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum 1-year current acute care hospital Labor and Delivery RN experience; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) Core or American Womens Healthcare Nursing Organization (AWHONN) certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with circulating Cesarean sections; high-risk Labor and Delivery experience
- Unit Information: Delivery room with a 26-bed capacity; staffing includes experienced nurses, Certified Nurse Technicians (CNC), and support staff; routine procedures include Cesarean sections, inductions, amniotomy (AROM), intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC), Doppler assessments, and fetal monitoring
- Additional Information: The unit uses Meditech/CPN Electronic Medical Record systems; modern equipment includes Alaris pumps, Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA) pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN monitors; staff benefits from self-scheduling and a collaborative team nursing environment; ongoing support from a strong leadership team and recent program enhancements like the new OB Hospitalist program introduced in April
