- Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts (01201) — Berkshires, MA travel nursing
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120 – $2,230 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Setting: Labor & Delivery (L&D), Inpatient and Outpatient lactation services
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN / Travel Nurse)
- Holiday Rotation: Participation in a holiday rotation is required for this assignment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license (or OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacist with MA license if all requirements are met)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) — IBCLC certification required (no equivalents)
- Minimum 2,500 hours as a breastfeeding consultant
- 1+ years of experience functioning as an IBCLC in clinical settings
- Experience with inpatient lactation programs and outpatient prenatal/postpartum lactation education
- Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred (electronic charting / clinical documentation)
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
- Supervisory signed reference from the past two years
- Must have own vehicle for assignment and reside more than 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse requirement)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership for lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Coordinate and lead the lactation program as Program Coordinator / Charge RN, including clinical oversight and staff support
- Formulate interdisciplinary plans of care for patients with advanced lactation support needs and communicate goals with the L&D and pediatric care teams
- Deliver prenatal and postpartum lactation education, breastfeeding consultations, and bedside clinical support
- Serve as a clinical resource and leader for lactation support within Labor & Delivery, promoting best practices in breastfeeding and maternal-infant health
- Document care and maintain accurate records in Meditech Expanse (electronic medical record)
- Participate in holiday rotation and unit scheduling as required
