Job Summary:
A specialized Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within the Maryland area, specifically in Largo. This role involves providing advanced patient care for post-surgical cardiac patients and those experiencing acute cardiovascular conditions. Candidates must bring their licensed MD RN license on the first day. The position requires extensive CVICU (cardiovascular intensive care unit) experience and is ideal for qualified professionals seeking a challenging and rewarding assignment.
Job Details:
- Shift: 3x12 Night shifts from 7:30 PM to 8:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active MD RN license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and at least 2 years of CVICU/open heart experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of charge nurse experience, experience with patient ratios of 2:1, and preferred familiarity with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required; Flu vaccine is mandated with no exemptions.
- Additional Job Details: Candidates should be comfortable managing arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, and complex cardiovascular interventions including CABG, TAVR, and valve repair. Experience with continuous IV paralytics, sedation, CVVHD/CRRT, ECMO, and Impella devices is preferred. The unit operates with interdisciplinary support including respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Floating within the unit and to sister units is required.
