Job Summary:
A qualified ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is needed in Kearney, Nebraska. The assignment involves working in a high-acuity unit with a variety of adult critical care patients, including trauma, cardiac events, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, stroke, renal failure, and more. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Kearney, Nebraska
- Shift: 12-hour shifts from 0630-1830 and 1830-0630, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU/critical care experience.
- Schedule: Self-scheduling for core staff; travelers may be added. Block scheduling is not guaranteed except for weekends.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, minimum 2 years ICU experience, proficiency in reading/interpretation of monitor strips (GE monitors), ability to work on EPIC EMR system, and availability for shifts as scheduled.
- Responsibilities: Titration of cardiac drips, insulin, sedation; troubleshooting ventilators and nasal cannula to vent; monitoring and interpreting telemetry; assisting with patient care based on census; and sitting in 1:1s or assisting on the floor as needed.
- Additional Information: One shift of unit/department-specific orientation required; RTO requests up to 7 days are accepted and need to be specified upfront. A minimum of two holidays falling within the contract timeframe is required. Floating to PCU or MedSurg units may be required, with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4 or 1:5.
