Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist in Detroit, MI. We seek a dedicated occupational therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve daily skills while working in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes patient- and employee-safety practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, discharge planning, documentation, and supervision of therapy assistants and students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience performing patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and documenting progress according to facility policy.
- Experience supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT students in clinical settings.
- Experience working in acute care or hospital environments preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with safe patient handling programs and materials handling procedures.
- Familiarity with discharge planning, adaptive equipment recommendations, and family/caregiver training.
- Experience participating in interdisciplinary team conferences and collaborative care planning.
