Job Summary:
This is a Travel Medical Surgical with Telemetry registered nurse position located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The role involves providing patient care in a medical-surgical unit specializing in respiratory conditions, with a focus on acute and chronic respiratory illnesses as well as general medical conditions. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 36 hours per week, with the possibility of working 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a Compact license, a minimum of 18 months to 2 years of recent experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, associated degree in nursing, certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross, and experience with Meditech Electronic Medical Records.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in respiratory patient care.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The position involves working in a 42-bed medical-surgical unit with an 8-bed respiratorystep-down unit; staff provide care for respiratory and general medical patients, including those with pneumonia, COPD, GI issues, diabetes, stroke, and surgical conditions. The unit emphasizes interdisciplinary team collaboration, and the nurse must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. The primary timesheet approver is Lacey Dice. The position is clinical and patient-facing, dress code is solid navy scrubs, and parking is available.
