Job Summary:
This Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) registered nurse (RN) position is located in El Paso, Texas. The role involves providing specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients in a dedicated pediatric intensive care setting. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: El Paso, Texas
- Shift: 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., three 12-hour shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Nursing experience, Pediatric experience, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience, RN License, BLS (Basic Life Support), ALS (Advanced Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications, Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Additional pediatric and pediatric ICU experience are considered advantageous
- Schedule: 3, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Additional Information: The unit requires staff to be adaptable and team-oriented with the ability to accept constructive criticism. The care involves procedures such as lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation. The unit is equipped with Hillrom beds, GC monitors, ICU Medial plum 360 pumps, and Medfusion syringe pumps. The pediatric care team is composed of experienced staff, and the unit emphasizes a well-established foundation in pediatric critical care, including managing patients with septic shock requiring vaso-active drips and mechanical ventilation.
