Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Council Bluffs, Iowa. This role provides critical care for patients in an acute care ICU setting, supporting high-acuity cases such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour nights; every third weekend; minimum 36 hours per week (holiday requirement includes July 4)
- Required Qualifications: Current licensure required (license to submit); Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Drivers license required at submission
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); ICU experience (preferred 2 years); previous travel experience
- Additional Information: ICU charting uses EPIC; hospitalist/in-house coverage is available 24/7 with intensivist availability during day hours and telemedicine support during night hours; respiratory therapy is available 24/7 and manages ventilator and Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) adjustments; registered nurses are expected to read and verify their own telemetry strips even though monitor techs read them as well; floating may be required to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) if not needed in the ICU; automated pre-screening includes performance-based requirements during orientation, including skills assessment with required passing score
