Phaxis is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) in Poughkeepsie, NY, where your contributions will make a meaningful impact on patient care and overall clinic operations. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Location - Poughkeepsie, NY
Position - RN PACU
Schedule - Days, Monday through Friday
- 40 hours/week (5x8 or 4x10)
Responsibilities
- Airway & Vital Sign Monitoring: Assess respiratory and cardiovascular status, evaluate level of consciousness, and ensure the patient is hemodynamically stable.
- Anesthesia Recovery: Monitor the patient as the effects of general, regional, or local anesthesia fade, looking closely for adverse reactions or neurological deficits.
- Pain & Symptom Management: Administer prescribed medications to treat surgical pain, post-operative nausea, and vomiting (PONV).
- Surgical Site Assessment: Inspect surgical dressings and drains for abnormal bleeding or signs of infection.
- Patient Handoff: Receive comprehensive reports from the surgical team and anesthesiologists and later provide detailed discharge instructions to patients and their families.
Requirements
- RN NY Nursing License is required
- BLS and ACLS is required
- At least 1-2 years of PACU RN experience is required!
