Job Summary: Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Nashua, New Hampshire
A registered nurse (RN) supports comprehensive nursing care activities on a geropsychiatric unit. This role involves assessing, monitoring, documenting, and reporting changes in patient condition, while delivering therapeutic milieu interventions such as daily groups, education, and 1:1 patient interactions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid State of New Hampshire RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; 2-year Associates degree or diploma from a 3-year Nursing program required; Bachelors degree preferred; medical terminology required; excellent mathematical and analytical skills; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Preferred Qualifications: 1 year previous nursing experience preferred
- Responsibilities: Assess, monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories; perform mental and physical assessments; administer medication and treatment per physician orders; assist patients with daily activities and observe reactions; facilitate therapeutic milieu activities including daily groups, education, and 1:1 sessions; collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans upon admission and ongoing; plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities for patients; conduct therapies aligned with patient diagnosis and needs; collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies; provide efficient discharge planning and obtain accurate histories at admission; complete required documentation in a timely manner (including admission paperwork, assessments, and progress notes)
- Additional Information: Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid; cancellation of up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract may be permitted
